Xoregos Performing Company has been invited by five Manhattan, one Bronx and two Queens libraries to present RED PEPPERS, Noël Coward’s one act, performed on Broadway during the 1936-37 season. It starred him and Gertrude Lawrence as the battling music hall couple. This run followed the London success in 1935. RED PEPPERS is one of ten one-acts which starred the famous pair; they are collectively known as TONIGHT AT 8:30RED PEPPERS includes two songs written by Sir Noël. The last New York performance on record of RED PEPPERS was a short run on Broadway in 1967.

ONE ACT GEMS will also include a rare one act by F. Scott Fitzgerald, PORCELAIN AND PINK (1922), ORDINARY by Jack Feldstein, SURPRISE by Mark Harvey Levine (two living playwrights) and a short cabaret of Coward songs. It is directed and choreographed by Shela Xoregos with Eugene Abrams as Music Director. The seven versatile actors are Cassie Bell, Daniel Broadhurst, Sergio Castillo, David Allen Green, Christina King, Andy Markert and Gretchen Poulos. Costumes are by Katy Freeman.

The program is in conjunction with the New York Public Library’s exhibit on Noël Coward, opening in March at the Lincoln Center Library. All library performances are free.
